Scavland Bunkers: Why Route Memory Fails Underground
Sources checked:
Scavland runs on two different kinds of space, and confusing them is expensive. The surface of Zalesye is hand-crafted: the same roads, settlements and ruins every time, which is why walking unfamiliar roads is real progress. The underground is procedurally generated, creating different layouts across a playthrough.
What that changes about preparation
- A clean bunker run is not a solution you can reuse. You learned one version of that descent, not the descent. Going in light because "I know this place" is the classic way to lose a stocked Vulture.
- Supplies, not memory, are the plan. Prepare for the bunker you have not seen: bandages for bleeding, a weapon whose condition you actually checked, and the capacity to carry what you find.
- Exits are not memorised either. With layout regenerated, route-finding is part of the run rather than something you optimise away.
What is confirmed to be down there
NoShadow's launch-day post lists "procedurally generated underground bunkers" among the shipped features, and the Steam description sells the pitch as scavenging "the wastes and forgotten bunkers". Achievement text adds a second underground category: Spelunker — "there's a lot to be found in the sprawling, pre-War underground" — which points at pre-war infrastructure as a distinct space from the bunkers themselves. It sat at 0.0% unlocked when this page was captured, so nobody had publicly completed whatever it asks for.
What we are not going to claim
No public source lists bunker tiers, room types, loot tables, boss placement or a floor count, so this page does not either. Sites publishing "bunker loot maps" for a game whose bunkers are generated per playthrough are describing one person's single run at best. When NoShadow documents the generator or the community assembles a verifiable dataset, this page gets that section.
