Scavland Mist & Radiation: Every Confirmed Hazard

Sources checked:

Scavland's setting is a post-Soviet region where, in NoShadow's words, everything is doing its best to kill you. Two things define it: the Mist, which the story revolves around, and radiation, which is a resource you manage like food and water. What follows is only what public sources actually confirm.

Confirmed hazards and entities

HazardWhat is confirmedSource
The MistThe deadly phenomenon the setting is built around, tied to the game's larger story. Achievement text describes it suffocating, corrupting and accelerating the senses."Something Calls" and "Apex Predator" achievements; store description

Mutated plantsA distinct enemy category that regrows faster than you can clear it."Herbicidal" and "Land Developer" achievements
BanditsHostile human survivors; the volume achievement asks for over two dozen kills."Relentless" and "Punching Bag" achievements
An "Aspect"Something that announces itself with a flash of light and overwhelming pain when nearby."Flash Mobbed" achievement
StarvationA survival failure state described in achievement text as pain nothing compares to."Society Has Failed You" achievement

The Mist is the plot, not just weather

Three separate achievements point at it. The Keeper of Mist — the Lake "with thousands of bodies in its depths… the symbol of our dying world" — is unlocked by 30.6% of owners, making it the first major landmark most players reach. Something Calls describes the Mist suffocating and corrupting the narrator's senses and asks whether the thing is alive; Apex Predator puts the Mist alongside mud, rain and blood as conditions you learn to hunt in. NoShadow's own launch post describes "a larger story surrounding Zalesye and the Mist", and a rumoured land beyond the Mist is the goal the whole journey east points toward — see the map page for Wyraj and the Highway.

Radiation in practice

Launch footage shows radiation as an ambient level that spikes in specific areas and can force a retreat outright, and shows exploding mutants irradiating the ground and everything on it. It sits in the same management layer as hunger, thirst and injuries — see survival systems — which is why an over-loaded pack of loot can end a run that a firefight would not have.

What is not documented

No public source gives radiation values, decontamination items and their strengths, Mist damage rates, anomaly types, or what an Aspect actually is beyond the flash of light in its achievement text. Those blanks stay blank here until something verifiable fills them.
